The Process
Let's Chat
We'll go over all the goals you have for your portraits, and the specific details you want to capture. I'll help you with wardrobe planning, and tips to prepare your child for their session.
Session Time
When you arrive, I'll have the background and lighting all set up. I'll get to know your child and help them warm up. My goal is for them to have fun so we can capture their authentic personality. You'll be present for the entire session.
Gallery Delivery
Within two weeks of your session, I'll send your lightly retouched digital viewing gallery. You'll pick your favorites five images for full hand editing.
Artwork
We'll discuss how you plan on displaying your favorite portraits in your home. Most families select a statement piece and a few smaller keepsakes. Custom framed artwork usually take 3-4 weeks for delivery.

Where do heirloom portrait sessions take place?
I use a studio in downtown McKinney for heirloom portrait sessions. It has a restroom, changing room, and convenient parking.
What is the best age for children for heirloom portraits?
Heirloom portraits are typically for babies once they are sitting independently, up to children up to 8 years old. My favorite age to photograph is about 2 or 3! Contact me to see if heirloom portraits are a good fit for your children.
What should my child wear?
Choose white, or baby pink for girls, or light blue for boys.. Smocking or peter-pan collars give a classic look. I'll share my favorite stores to look for the perfect outfits.
I have several friends interested in heirloom portraits, too. Do you have group packages?
Yes! Contact me directly for more information on group heirloom portraits. They can take place in a home, or in the McKinney studio.
What's included with the session?
The session fee includes session prep, wardrobe planning, and the studio rental. When you receive your digital gallery, you'll select your favorite 5 images to download. I'll send you all five in both color and black-and-white. You'll have the option to upgrade to your full gallery, as well. You'll also receive a beautifully matted fine art print of one portrait. Fine art prints are heirloom quality Giclée prints on lightly textured 100% cotton paper. The included print is 5x7 in an 8x10 mat.
